Workshop for children “De-a Arhitectura”

As every year, there will be workshops on the agenda, in collaboration with De-a Arhitectura, dedicated to the little ones who have an important word to say in the city planning processes.

“De-a Arhitectura” Association is organizing on the 3rd of October 2020, the workshop entitled “Cele 9 vieți ale unei clădiri” (“The 9 lives of a building”) in collaboration with the Romanian Order of Architects – Timiș Territorial Branch, Beta – Timișoara Architecture Biennial and RETIM Ecologic Service SA. In how many ways does a house live? How many times and for whom? Once is enough? Through handmade crafts, drawing and exchange of ideas, we invite children to imagine, express and find solutions for some possible future lives of a building or its parts, selecting and reconstructing them, by their own criterias and priorities.

De-a Arhitectura working group was set up in 2011, when the six founding members gathered together to write the “ De-a arhitectura [Playing architecture] in my city” course. The working group operated until January 2013 as part of the cultural project of the  Romanian Chamber of Architects – Bucharest  Branch. During this period, the group managed to test this new study subject in seven schools from Bucharest, with the help of eight volunteer architects.

RETIM Ecologic Service’s waste management strategy now means another way of collecting household waste, protecting the environment, recovering reusable materials and making a better use of municipal solid waste. In this way, waste management is transformed into resource management, waste becoming a source of raw materials and secondary fuel, with a direct and immediate effect on the environment.
